CUBE-IT, Powered by TCG, is an add-on module to the Cost Information System that gives users multi-faceted views of shipments in the Traffic/CIS database. Going beyond reports and spreadsheets, CUBE-IT lets the user select various traffic data sets and then drag and drop a wide-range of metrics to show and compare summaries of shipment history by a variety of breakdowns, to provide insight into freight profitability.
The database can be further enhanced with additional performance metrics such as service standard attainments. This tool, based on SQL and Microsoft Analytics, uses an intuitive graphical user interface to offer a robust and flexible reporting format, as well as a graphical presentation. Insight on customers, lanes, and seasonal trends can be obtained with just a few clicks.
This product is provided as a joint effort by TCG and BIł (Business Intelligence) Solutions, a division of
ThoughtDrivers, a Pittsburgh, PA-based business technology company. PITT OHIO EXPRESS, for whom the
product was initially developed, has used this business intelligence tool to identify millions of dollars of
unprofitable freight since adopting it in 2002. PITT OHIO continues to take action to increase their
overall profitability based on the insights that CUBE-IT provides.
