CIS
shipment files (*.cxt) can be combined for costing to provide a grand total when separate files
are developed for different shipping locations, data sources, or other
requirements.
This is done using the Costing
option on the entry screen’s menu bar, and then clicking on the subsequent Select Files option.
This opens an on-screen file selection window, with a left-side listing
of all shipment files in the user’s shipment files folder, displayed
alphabetically.
Scroll to the desired files to cost and double-click on each, moving each
to the right-side queue.
When all files to combine have been selected, click the Cost
button to process them together.
The
grand total cost report, which appears on-screen at the conclusion of the
costing, will be for the combined
files, followed by separate reports for each shipment file.
The CIS shipment summary, the on-screen grid displaying each shipment
found under the View results option, will initially display all shipments
from the first file.
Click on the File option, and then on View Next File, to
load subsequent summary results for viewing.
When
inquiring the full cost detail, using the View Results option Individual
Elements, a list of the shipment files included in the costing will appear to
allow selection of the desired file.
Then, on the Element Quick View screen itself, click on the upper-left
file name box to select the shipment file from those combined for the costing.
Other
output reports, such as by State and by Lane, will produce
separate reports for each file.
The original shipment files themselves remain separate for any subsequent
modification or other use.
