Traffic/CIS
contains a setting, under the Database Builder option Cost the Database,
to set the packaging code priority as either the Customer Profile or the
shipment data from the probill record.
This priority applies to shipments as outlined below:
·
If the priority is set to Customer Profile, then the packaging code
stated in a matching customer profile will always apply.
·
If the priority is set to the probill record then:
·
If the probill record packaging code is zero, the Customer Profile will
apply.
·
If the shipment record contains any of the three “base” packaging
codes:
1
– Unitized
2
– Palletized, or
3
– Loose Pieces
Then
the Customer Profile will not apply,
unless the Customer Profile specifies a combination
packaging code (4 through 8) meaning that the packaging changes during the move, in which case the Customer Profile will
override the shipment data.
In
either of the cases above where the customer profile applies, if a particular
shipment has a Customer Profile with packaging codes for both the shipper and
the consignee, the packaging code for the shipper applies.
